Team North America Loses close came to Russia.
Team North America was defeated by Team Russia last night by a score of 4-3.
The first period was great for North America, they looked like they were going to pick off were they left off from Sunday’s game epically when Austin Mathew scored 5 minutes into the game just like on Sunday, he was assisted by McDavid and Scheifele.
That was it for the first period. Then the Second period was all Russia, for some reason Russia gained momentum after a couple of really bad power play opportunities they took over the period scoring four unanswered goals. Here are the goal scorers for Russia in order: Valsalva Nesting, Nikita Kushiro, Evgeni Kuznetsova, Vladimir Tarasenko.
Then after the four goals North America seemed to get their wits back a little bit and Morgan Reilly scored assisted by Garneau, the team’s second goal with three minutes left in the second.
Then in the Third period it was all North America. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored a power play goal assisted by MacKinnon, and Parayko 3 minutes into the period. The team would not score again but kept up the pressure with I have no idea how many chance because there were so many to count, then North America pulled the goalie with around 2 minutes to play in the game and had offensive possession that entire time and at one point the puck found Shayne Gostosbehere at the blue line and fired a rocket on goal and it beat everybody including Bobrovsky but it was defeated by the post but I am pretty sure it left a dent in that post because the puck rebounded about 6 feet after hitting the post.
Yeah Team North America lost but these kids showed that they do have some grit and do not need those veteran guys to help them make a comeback they just made some adjustments and found their game again which is speed and skill, and North America started getting a lot more physical after Russia’s third goal. Team North America had 46 shots on goal.
