In with the new out with the old
The Boston Bruins Route Montreal 4-0 at home, and win third straight.
Finally Tuukka Rask gets a win at home against the damn Canadiens, not only a win but a shutout.
The game started out a pretty normal Boston Montreal game with Andrew Shaw and Torey Krug squaring off. This was in retaliation for Krug’s hit in Shaw that happened the last time these two met. After the hit Shaw missed a few games with a concussion. Shaw “won” the fight, Krug fell down, and the energy if the game just went up from there.
At 8:57 of the first Adam McQuaid scored on a gorgeous backdoor pass from rookie Peter Cehlarik, marking his first NHL career point. Then the rest of the period was some of the best hockey from the Bruins I have seen in a long time. Both teams just traded chance after chance and both goalies let nothing by.
The Bruins came out hot in the second with a short-handed goal from their captain Zdeno Chara who kinda had a dangle, more of a reach with his 9 foot pole he calls a stick but still a good play. David Krejci then decided to join the party on a power play goal, off of a beautiful no-look pass from David Backes, who received the puck from another great pass from Cehlarik. Again the rest of the period was back and forth but no other goals.
Frank “the tank” Vatrano put the knife in the coffin with the fourth and final Bruins goal. The goal came off of a great scoring chance from Krejci who missed the net but the puck bounced right to Vatrano who put it in.
AS for the title I really do believe this new Bruins team could win the cup. They are playing the game with passion and intensity that I have not seen in a while. Maybe Claude Julien as the problem or at least his system was. Julien was always set on defense first, which works when you have great shutdown D-man. The Bruins do not. Then Bruce Cassidy comes i and says that he wants to push the pace, and the Bruins win three games. Is this due to the coaching change or a coincidence. I do not know but I do know that I like it. If the Bruins keep playing like this they have a chance to make it to the Cup.
Plus the trade deadline is approaching and who knows what Sweeney has in store for us. I f finally have faith in this team again. Thank you Claude but I am glad you are gone.
