Boston Red Sox spring training update

With the rest of the Boston Red Sox players reporting to spring  training today. Hanley Ramirez pulled up and he looked around and he felt a empty feeling he misses his mentor.

The man that helped make the team what it is today, the one the only David Ortiz.

When Ortiz signed with  the Red  Sox in 2003, he would not of played if  it was not for Pedro Martinez, who got him on  the Red  Sox in  the first place, he wouldn’t  have been  in  the starting line up Martinez put his job on  the line to get him into  the starting  line  up,  and a year in and a half later in 2004 David Ortiz helped end the 86  year championship drought.

He  has made  a huge  impact  both on  and off  the field he is  a great role model, Boston is his home and  its not gonna be the same without him. But there comes  a time were even the greatest player has  to say goodbye, so I’d  like to take this time to thank you David Ortiz for everything you  have done for the Red Sox and the city of Boston. You  have given so much back  to  the committee we love  you and we always have room  for you here in Boston
