New England Patriots Free Agent Receiver Michael Floyd Begins 24 Day Jail Sentence
Michael Floyd was claimed by the Patriots after waivers from the Cardinals in December after Floyd was arrested in Scottsdale Arizona after Scottsdale police found him unresponsive in his running car.
Floyd alcohol blood content was .217 that is nearly 3X over the legal limit Floyd pled guilty to extreme drunkenness on Thursday in Scottsdale Arizona. Floyd was sentenced to 120 days in jail which 24 must be served in Maricopa County in Arizona.
From there he was sentenced to 96 days of house arrest and has to wear a gps monitoring device, Floyd was also sentenced to 30 hours of community service and is court ordered to undergo alcohol abuse classes and has to pay $5,115 in fines.
He is due back in court next Friday, but by pleading guilty he is putting himself on the right track for training camp at the end of July. Floyd will be became a unrestricted free agent on the 9th of March, he has said he does want to come back with the Patriots but it is still unclear whether or not Floyd will be able to serve his house arrest in New England and attend the Patriots off season work out that goes from April to June.
