The Boston Bruins Beat The San Jose Sharks in overtime

The Boston Bruins start off their west coast road trip with a big win, and two big points. The Bruins have been seeming to play like a different team under Bruce Cassidy. This marks the Boston Bruins first 4 game win streak of the season.

Most of the game was very boring, there was not much back and forth like there has been the past couple of games. This may be due to the new described Bye week curse, the 7 teams that had their by week have not one their first game back from the bye. The Bruins decided to change that and show that the Bye did not get rid of all of their momentum. The Bye week is still the dumbest thing ever.

The Bruins did score first, at 11:05 Ryan Spooner scored on a rebound from Jimmy Hayes, yes Jimmy Hayes got a point. This was Hayes’ 100th point, but it took him 7 seasons. That was all the scoring in the first. Patrick Marleau scored the tying goal at 17:37 of the second.  There were no goals in the third and only shots total. The game was headed into overtime. The typical Bruins is used to overtime meaning shootout under Claude Julien, but this over time Bruce Cassidy was in charge. Cassidy clearly did not want to wait that long so his team scored in OT.

Brad Marchand won the game in OT on a breakaway goal just 2 minutes into OT, he was sprung by a pass/clearing attempt by Torey Krug. I am not really sure if Krug was trying to clear the zone or if it was an intentional pass.

“I just said I was going to go,” Said Marchand, ” I knew if i got open he would hit me”.

The Bruins will head to LA on Wednesday to take on the LA Kings.
