Boston Red Sox Get First Look At American League East Opponent

The Boston Red Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays at 1:05 pm for their first look at the American League East opponent. The game will be broadcasted on NESN and on WEEI, this is the last television game for the Red Sox until next Saturday

Hector Velazquez RHP

This is Velazquez’s first look at the Major League level just a week after the Red Sox purchased his contract from the Piratas de Campeche from the Mexican League. At 28-years-old Velasquez is an interesting project for the Red Sox as they look to bolster their pitching depth.

The lineup itself is interesting in itself with a player like Allen Craig continuing to have opportunities to impress the organization along with up and coming prospect Sam Travis who is hoping to break into the big league at some point this season.

Unfortunately for this Boston Red Sox lineup they will have to deal with an actual major league pitcher in Chris Archer. On the pitching side of things for Boston it should be a relative cake walk with no real big threat in the lineup for Tampa.
