Boston Red Sox Receive Some Good News With David Price Not Needing Surgery
Good news for the Boston Red Sox as starting pitcher David Price does not need Tommy John surgery. Instead the Red Sox ace just needs plenty of rest and treatment.
This means he’ll start the season off on the disabled list (DL) and he will be shut down 7-10 days from all throwing activities. Receiving this news was a huge sigh of relief for the Red Sox compared to the 12-18 months of recovery he would have to undergo if it had been Tommy John surgery.
David Price is has been an absolute workhorse in the Major Leagues with 1,671 innings in his major league career. Price led the AL American league in 2014 and 2016 in innings pitched and his workload may have resulted in the elbow tightness he has been dealing with.
Price is a great pitcher and the Red Sox are hoping he can help get them to another World Series title this upcoming season.
