Patriots Talk: Jimmy Garappolo’s Instagram Hack?

by Stephen Hilton

So today was quite interesting. At around 4 AM EST this morning, New England Patriots’ back [Quarterback] Jimmy Garappolo shocked many around the Patriots’ community with a post on Instagram stating simply ‘So grateful for my time in New England. Peace out Boston.’ For months now, there have been nothing but speculation around whether Garappolo was going to be traded to teams such as the Cleveland Browns or the Chicago Bears for high draft picks but nothing seem to come up.

However, today is not that day.  It seems that based on recent events following that post many media reporters including Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter have confirmed that that the post was nothing more than a hack. As of right now, the post has since been deleted on Garappolo’s Instagram but no follow up has been posted regarding the situation of whether there really was a hack or not. Or rather who exactly made the post in the first place.

Seems that just based on what has circulated around the NFL in less than half a day, this was no more than a troll post to get media attention surrounding the conundrum of Garappolo’s situation of ‘Will he be traded or what?’ It seems that with recent events the possibility becomes less and less with these sort of pranks that are to stir the media to get attention. As far as we know, this is a non-issue story until Garappolo is officially traded so take this whole thing with a grain of salt.
